Hiya folks.

I live in the UK, near Reading.

I am completely obsessed with the garden this year.  I have a big frilly cottage garden.  I need some suggestions for plants that flower but are not tasty to snails and slugs.  I have had success with these (below) and all the other painfully obvious cottage-y plants like that.  What I am after are July-September bloomers, and preferably hardy plants.  I am happy growing from seed.  I Just don't have what it takes to kill a slug unless it is literally inside my house.

Roses (obviously)

Columbine

Nasturtiums

Geraniums

Hollyhock

Foxgloves

Sunflowers

Cerinthe

Cottage pinks

Lavander

Campanula

Heartease

Dutchman's breeches

Clematis

Mint

Chamomile

Rosemary

And, by the way, if you are curious, there's a list of plants snails and slug don't like!  :)

Thanks! Yeah, in about July, I just go sit in amazement, with absolutely no idea how it all happened.

to get rid of slugs...

a shallow dish filled with a few inches of beer (any kind of light beer, the cheaper the better, why waste good beer)placed on the ground in the areas the slugs frequent or near plants they like to munch on will kill the nasty buggers. They are attracted to the beer but then drown in it. Repeat as necessary, works like a charm. Make sure the beer is deep enough and the dish wide enough that they will drown.
